Mary Ann & Al Flores
As of June 30, 1999
We finally have E-Mail (email@example.com) and I'm so excited! Now we can get all the information, latest news, and warm fuzzies while all of it is still fresh and new! Glad to be among the 90's.
News from the Flores Casa. Joseph is out of the military, 2 years now and in construction. He is framing for a lathing company and works with a welder. He loves it. He was living for us for the last year and just moved out to Costa Mesa with two of his Marine buddies. Can you imagine 3 jarheads living in peace and harmony! Well, they do. We have met the other 2 guys and Joe couldn't ask for better roommates. I thank the Lord!
David is back from deployment in Kuwait and areas thereabouts. Yes, he was there during Operation Desert Fox. We were on pins and needles the whole time he was there. I again thank the Lord for bringing him home safely to us. He is now on leave until just after the Fourth of July weekend. When we thought he wouldn't be able to make #10's wedding, now he is! His tour of duty with the Marine Corps is up in September. What a fast four years that was, Huh?
Both of our sons have grown to be mighty handsome dudes. A liitle obnoxious at times, but handsome, nonetheless.
Kathryn will be entering the 2nd grade in the fall. She has blossomed and matured so much in the last couple of years. The move out here to Hemet was the best thing we could have done for her. We were able to enroll her in a Special Ed Pre-School through Riverside County as soon as we moved. Due to the large population, I do not believe we would have received such a quick placement if we stayed in Los Angeles. Thank you, Jesus, for watching over us and instilling in us the fortitude to make such a drastic change.
Kathryn reads so well that she was pulled out of the first grade reading class to be with super readers like herself - around the 4th or 5th grade reading level!! She has won several awards in school: a Science award for learning so quickly about animals; (We have a budding marine biologist in the family!); of course, a Super Reader award; and the Language Arts award! Don't be surprised if some day you read about her in the American Journal of Medicine or a similar publication.
Al and I are both fine. Al is an angel on earth for puttng up with me (and the rest of the Masottos) for the past 8 years. I love him. I no longer commute to Santa Ana every day. I thank God that I obtained a job in Redlands, just 45 minutes (30 miles) from the house. A hop, skip and a jump compared to the 2 1/2 hours (77 miles one way) trip to Orange County! We are looking forward to Loretta's wedding. Al wants to dance with all my sisters! So, save a dance for him, girls!
All for now. We Love all of you. God bless you and keep you all in His care.
